Get involved!

As a community orientated group, we would appreciate anyone giving time for the animals.

Doing the Actions on the site, making new Actions and Action Lists, and promoting them, is something anyone can do, anywhere.

If you want to help more directly, here are some ideas.

Volunteering

There's a separate page for volunteering at the forum.

For our regular events and the website, we'd love other people to get involved in making them better.  Whatever skills and time you have, please get in touch either here or on our social media and let's chat.

In person events

Our main in person events are our regular dinners, talks and other social events.  We could do with more help organising, marketing, recording and with the social aspects of these events. We could also do more kinds of events.

How everyone can help is just keep an eye on attendees and make sure people are included. We get a lot of new people coming and  having people who take on the responsibility to be welcoming is really important.  It's nice when you coming and going from an event is noticed by at least someone :)

Website, Social Media, Audio, Video etc

If there are skills in these areas you have, awesome.

There is almost an unlimited amount of Social Media we could be doing for animals.  From regular posts, to short form, and longer form video, the scope is vast.  If you want to chat with us and strategise how we could do this together, we'd love your involvement.

For the website, if you have design skills and ideas for how to make it work better we'd like to hear from you.  From a development/programming side of view, the site uses the Drupal framework and vanilla Javascript, so if you want to get involved in that side get in touch.

Donating / sponsoring

All our events are volunteer run, and if there is a cost we try to make it just enough to mostly cover costs. All of our forums have run at a very slight loss and that is how we like it.  We accept donations for the forum only so we can make the standard tickets reasonably priced; we think this issue is too important for anyone to not attend because of costs.

If you are looking for somewhere to donate to help animals, check out Animal Charity Evaluators.

Having said all this, money can help make things happen, and we are here to make things happen. We do have a lot of ideas for how to help animals, and try to base them on best practise models from around the world.  If you would like to talk about some ideas, we would be happy to see if together we can create a project to do more good for animals.
